…there is no art confined within borders and rules
Chroma are a band whose songs are in Greek and claim to be playing cyclothymic rock through a pop perspective.
They’ve been active (with slight changes in their original line-up) in the Greek music scene for over 13 years and boast to have in their record 2 albums, 2 singles and over a hundred live shows and gigs in various places.
Concerning collaborations, the band was fortunate to have the famous songwriter/singer Dionysis Savopoulos participate in their song “Oniro” (“Dream” in English) which was featured in their first record! Worth mentioning was also the collaboration with the known songwriter/singer Zak Stefanou (they performed common shows) during the period 2013-2014 which led to the recording of the most famous song of the group “Erotikos Metanastis” (“Love Immigrant” in English). Moreover, during the period 2015-16 the band collaborated with members of the Thessaloniki based street drum band “Kroustofono”, forming a 13 member big band that experimented in mixing different music styles and genres (pop, rock, reggae, latin, traditional Greek and African music).
Chroma have covered songs of famous Greek singers such as Haris Alexiou (Zita mou oti thes), Nikos Portokaloglou (Vale mou dyskola) and Manos Hadjidakis (Pes mou mia lexi). They have collaborated with composer/lyricist Stathis Pahidis (Agami Thite) recording a song of his called “Oplo Foniko” (“Lethal Weapon” if translated in English) which is featured in the second album of the band, the so-called Red Album.
The youtube channel of the band has over 285 thousand views.
Lastly, Chroma have opened concerts for various famous Greek and foreign artists such as Ble, Pavlos Pavlidis, Craig Walker (Archive).
